Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

At Boronia K-12 College Early Learning Centre we are committed to providing a child-safe environment where all children are valued, respected, and protected from harm.

We believe that every child has a right to feel safe, be safe, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

We are dedicated to acting in the best interests of children in all circumstances. the safety and wellbeing of children will always be our highest priority.

We are committed to:

1. Upholding the rights of all children to be safe, heard and included.
2. Embedding child safety into our culture through policies, procedures, and everyday practices.
3. Creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and respects all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, and those who may be more vulnerable to harm.
4. Ensuring that all staff, volunteers, and educators are carefully screened, trained, and supported to understand their roles in protecting children from abuse and neglect.
5. Listening to children and empowering them to speak up about their concerns or worries.
6. Responding promptly and appropriately to any allegations or concerns regarding children safety.

We are dedicated to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and welcome feedback from families, staff, and children to help us do so. Together we share a collective responsibility to ensure every child in our care is safe, supported and respected.
