Berry Street educational Model: A Trauma-Informed Practice

The Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) is a practical approach to teaching and learning that enables teachers to increase engagement with students with complex, unmet learning needs and successfully improve all students self-regulation, growth and academic achievement.

School Wide Positive Behaviour

A whole-school evidence-based approach to promote improved behaviour that uses school level data to inform actions across all three tiers of support.  There is an explicit teaching of expected behaviours that are within the PBE matrix and the acknowledgement of positive behaviours.

Respectful Relationships

We are committed to implementing a whole school approach to Respectful Relationships and delivering the teaching and learning materials in dedicated class time. We use “The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships” resource material which have been designed for teachers in primary and secondary schools to develop students social, emotional and positive relationship skills.

Restorative Practice

Restorative practice is a whole school teaching and learning approach that encourages behaviour that is supportive and respectful. It puts the onus on individuals to be truly accountable for their behaviour and to repair any harm caused to others as a result of their actions.
