Student Led Cafe

Student Led Café

In 2025, Boronia K-12 College launched an exciting new initiative –  our Student-Led Café, a project entirely designed, built, and operated by our own students. Located near our symbolic Snake Meeting Place, the café is a vibrant social hub that reflects our value of Community.

Developed by Year 10 and 11 students, the café began as a hands-on project combining design, construction, and entrepreneurship. It now serves as a fully functioning space where everyone is welcome to enjoy a selection of drinks including freshly brewed coffee, teas, juices, and (coming soon) smoothies.

In 2026, the café will become part of our new Year 10 Business elective — Bean There, Done Business. Students in this subject will complete barista training, learn the fundamentals of running a small business, and manage daily café operations. The program also includes a pop-up restaurant experience, giving primary students the opportunity to participate in hospitality and customer service learning.

Our café proudly partners with Foothills Community Care, who generously supply recycled produce for our juices and smoothies, along with ethically sourced coffee beans. This partnership highlights our school’s commitment to sustainability and community connection.

The Student-Led Café is more than just a place for great coffee — it’s a living example of student innovation, teamwork, and enterprise in action.
