Celebrating Young Writing Talent
A big congratulations to Matthew P from Year 9, who has received outstanding recognition for his writing!
Matthew was awarded the Young Writers Initiative Award for his article published in the October 2025 edition of the Boronia & The Basin Community News. He was also honoured by the Community Newspaper Association of Victoria, winning “Best Article by a Person 18 Years or Younger.”
Danny Nolan from the BBCN attended our Middle School Assembly to personally present Matthew with his awards — an incredible achievement and a proud moment for our College community!

Clay Shooting Final
Congratulations to Owen S from Year 9, who placed second in the South East Zone Junior Boys category at the Clay Target Shooting Competition in Frankston in August. His consistent success across the last four competitions earned him a place in the State Championships, held at the Echuca Clay Target Club in September.
He performed exceptionally well at the State Final, narrowly missing a podium finish by just one point. Our College is extremely proud of his dedication and impressive achievements over the past six months. What an outstanding way to represent Boronia K–12 College, we’re so proud!

2025 Victorian Schools Mountain Bike Series
Congratulations to Year 6 College Captain Connor W, who has proudly represented Boronia K-12 College throughout the 2025 Victorian Schools Mountain Bike Series.
Over the year, Connor has travelled across Victoria to compete on challenging tracks in locations such as Ballarat, Dromana and Bendigo — each course testing riders with fast descents, rock gardens and technical sections.
The highlight of the competition came just last week in Castlemaine, where Connor achieved an impressive 3rd place finish, earning his first podium result of the series. This outstanding performance helped him secure 4th place overall from a field of more than 40 competitors from across the state.
An incredible achievement — congratulations, Connor!

Primary School Regional Athletics
Congratulations to Rogue D in Year 6, who represented Boronia K-12 College at the Eastern Metropolitan Primary School Regional Athletics Championships in October.
Rogue competed in the 12/13-Year-Old Shot Put event, finishing 7th overall after progressing through three levels of competition against more than 40 other students. She achieved a new personal best of over 8 metres—just 70cm shy of second place!
We are incredibly proud of Rogue’s dedication, effort, and determination, both in her training and on the day of competition. Well done, Rogue, on an outstanding achievement!
