- Registered under the Australian Counselling Association
- Counselling Services: Leads and supervises a multidisciplinary wellbeing team including counsellors and health professionals and provides expert support through risk assessments, safety plans, and therapeutic interventions.
- External Agency Coordination: Coordinates complex student support with external agencies, leads multi-agency meetings, and liaises with external services to ensure holistic care.
- Social Emotional Programs: Lead non-counselling group programs aimed at emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and communication skills development, all within our defined scope of practice.
- Leadership and Strategic Planning: leads strategic planning aligned with school improvement goals, works collaboratively on the implementation of policies, frameworks and provides professional learning to embed wellbeing across the school.
Youth Worker – James Latu
- Education: Diploma of Community Services
- Mentoring and Group Programs: Lead programs designed to boost confidence, resilience, and positive behaviors through goal setting and role modeling. Please note, these programs do not include counselling or mental health support.
- School Activities: Plan and organize engaging school events and activities to foster a vibrant and connected community. Artisan Teacher for the Hands on Learning Program.

School Chaplain – Mikayla Clark
- Education: Bachelor of Youth Work
- Pastoral Care: Provide individual and group support to nurture students’ personal growth.
- Group Programs: Conduct sessions focused on building confidence, resilience, and positive behaviors through goal setting and role modeling.

Mental Health Practitioner – Amy Hayman
Mental health practitioners adapt their approach based on the needs of their school and students. Their key responsibilities include:
- Education: Master of Social Work
- Direct Counselling: Offer individual counselling and early intervention services to students.
- Support Coordination: Oversee and manage additional support for students with complex needs.
- Health Promotion: Contribute to school-wide initiatives focused on health prevention and promotion.
Adolescent Health Nurse – Bronwyn Vaughan
School Nurses work closely with DET health and wellbeing professionals using the Practice Model to:
- Deliver Prevention and Intervention: Implement activities aimed at preventing health issues and providing primary care interventions within schools.
- Build Capacity: Enhance workforce skills and capabilities.
- Provide Specialized Services: Offer expert assessments and specialized support to improve students’ health, wellbeing, and learning outcomes.
Additionally, School Nurses may support and promote DET programs and initiatives such as Respectful Relationships and School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support.
Student Wellbeing Officer – Sophia Edwards
- Education: Bachelor of Counselling
- Counselling Services: Offer triage, crisis support, and short-term counselling within our scope of practice.
- External Agency Coordination: Collaborate with external organisations to enhance our support network.
- Social Emotional Programs: Lead non-counselling group programs aimed at emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and communication skills development, all within our defined scope of practice.
ACAP Placement Program
Completing a counselling degree such as Master of Counselling, Bachelor of Counselling etc.
Under the supervision of the Wellbeing Team and Clinical supervision through their University (ACAP University)
- Short term counselling
- Engagement support
- Group Programs (not counselling) – targeted at emotional regulation, conflict resolution and building communication skills.
All students accessing counselling support will require parental/guardian consent after engaging in an intake session. ACAP Student Counsellors are only able to see students 13 years and over.
